5 of Florida's Dog Friendly Beaches

Great news for the beach lovers out there that don't like to leave their doggies behind while at a beach outing. There are numerous dog-friendly beaches in Florida where you and your four legged counterparts can enjoy a swim or play fetch with a frisbee or ball.

1. Davis Island Dog Beach, Tampa Florida

This location has beautiful views of the marina on one side and a white sans beach on the other with the routine cruise ship channeling out on an adventure.

 2. Fort De Soto Dog Beach, St. Petersburg Florida

This beach is beautiful and clean, if the dogs get tired of the water, there's a huge dog park a couple steps away.

3. Smyrna Dunes Park, New Smyrna Beach Florida

1.2 mile boardwalk to the jetty/swim/fish area with a great view of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse.

4. Brohard Paw Park, Venice Florida

Before entering the dog section of the beach there is a dog park offering doggie drinking fountains, showers on decks for “dogs only”, fire hydrants and leash posts.

5. Carlin Park, Jupiter Florida

Jupiter Beach is home to one of Florida's best off-leash beaches. Dogs are free to roam a large section of the beach running along A1A. Be sure to check out Carlin Parks Annual Hang 20 Dog Surf Classic.

Always remember to have plenty of water on hand for your pets to avoid dehydration. Seek out frequent breaks for your dogs in the shade, and consult with your pet’s veterinarian before leaving for heartworm medication as a buffer against Florida’s mosquitoes.
